Creating Smiles in Children at Koraput

More than 5000 children between the age group of 0-6 years have smiled or gathered hope to smile over the last two years since the launching of District early intervention centre by Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram ( RBSK) in the district headquarter hospital at Koraput  , said Dilip Mishra , one of the staff members  today . 

The programe with an aim of treating children with the challenges of defects at birth , any kind of deficiencies , diseases or developmental delay  like problems in  gross motor , fine motor , vision , cognition,hearing , speech and socialising  in children , free of  cost  officials  added .

Children are offered one to one consultation and care with  very much focused and targeted intervention following a  detailed  investigation by the psychologist .Children are also referred from grassroots in the district  based on the guidelines given in the screening  tool-cum-referral card for children that has been supplied to different health workers  .

While the centre is well equipped with Aradhana Deura as Speech Therapist , Bighneswar Mallik , the special educator ,psychologist S.Kumar , Physiotherapist Kumar Satyabrat and social worker Haribandhu Desinayak , there was a need of more human resource  for the ever increasing number of children reaching the centre for getting care . Doubling the existing technical manpower apart from filling the vacancies of a dentist , dental technician , specially dedicated medical officer for the centre could benefit children at large .

 Most of the children receive  only one or two chances to  get access to  the facilities of the centre  for the shortage of service hours with the service providers that each one of them could give for each child needing special attention   parents  added.

Oath taking Ceremony of School Cabinet of Pujariput UP School , Koraput on 5th July-2014

The New School cabinet under the leadership of Abhi Bhoi , Chief Minister of the School Cabinet , all the fourteen ministers took oath for doing good for the school collectively . Siba Shankar Patnaik , Educationist of Koraput attended the programme as Chief Guest . The first meeting of the School cabinet would be held next Saturday . All the ministers and Deputy Ministers were felicitated and all the Children of the school were given Toffees . Great event . .

Elections to School Cabinet held at Pujariput UP School , Koraput on 4th July-2014

As declared before elections were held for the School Cabinet of Pujariput UP School in Koraput yesterday for the year 2014-15 academic year . Special arrangements were made , orientation on what & How to cast their votes were made for the children . Charges of officials distributed among teachers . Elections were held following Indian Democratic system . Counting was done and Results were reserved for the next day . Elections were held peacefully and Joyfully with the active participation of children and teachers .Great event . Congrats

Interaction with Children on Car Festival today at RRCC , Koraput

Lord Jagannath is Universal and is open to all . HE is unmatched for his omnipresence .His rituals are unique . His car festival is the festival of humanity . All is ONE and ONE is ALL . Prateek patnaik , a child in Std.X from Delhi Public School and Sri Umakant Das , eminent researcher on Jagannath consciousness addressed children who had gathered in Regional Resource Centre for Children(RRCC) at Koraput today . Prateek was felicitated on the occasion for his achievement in the field of Spiritual journey

It was a great honour in working on Child participation with children from Railway Platform at Cuttack on 26th June-2014

Children from the disadvantaged section of the society staying in Railway platforms of Cuttack were happy for me being there for about five hours with them talking , dancing , playing and working together .Organizers from district administration appreciated and honored me ( a little child of Koraput ) before the children in the afternoon .While there were children who had been addicted to serious drugs and facing serious challenges of life at every moment , I was happy to see a little spark of hope for a better future of the children when some of them said that today was also an interesting day that they would love to have .It was still a great honour .I am grateful to the Divine for giving such a great opportunity .
